HALEY has released five records under the name Haley Bonar, but made the bold decision on International Women's Day to change drop the Bonar and be known simply as HALEY.
She enjoyed a remarkable 2016 with the release of Impossible Dream. Released on Memphis Industries, it contained the BBC Radio 6 Music-playlisted singles "Kismet Kill," "Stupid Face" and "Called You Queen." The St. Pauls, Minnesota singer-songwriter completed two triumphant sold out UK tours and also appeared on Later... with Jools Holland.
Haley is set to perform live on Lauren Laverne's BBC Radio 6 Music show on 20th April, to celebrate Record Store Day and to discuss her new single "Bratt".
Harkening back to her 2011 release Golder - which featured two instrumental tracks - McCallum has taken the instrumental concept a few steps further with a brave new album that features no vocals. Pleasureland features long time collaborators, Jeremy Ylvisaker and Low's Steve Garrington, abetting Haley as she displays her long-time mastery of simple and haunting melodies that remain with the listener long after, replacing explanation through words with a pallet of sonic exploration wrapped up into just twenty-seven minutes.
